These offerings are run by the schools, the City, or our program partners, and the activities are free, financially accessible, or offer scholarships. We hope this list shows a diverse range of summer programs and activities for students of all ages!

*There will be no Summer Academy on Fridays at any location.

Spring into Adventure with Spring Break Camp at the Y, a fun-filled journey of friendship-building, self-confidence, and learning to embody the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Sports Camps focus on instructional skill building, fun, and social skills. Every day your child will receive instruction from our YMCA staff.
2025 Summer Sports Camps include:

Sports camp is a recreational, play-based program that focuses on fundamentals rather than competition.

Summer Day Camp Information
|
P&R summer camp program includes weekly trips to the pool and a field trip to an exciting destination. A nutritious breakfast and lunch are provided through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. The registration deadline is 7 days before the start of a new week.
Dates and hours:
June 16 through July 25, 2025 (No camp June 19 and July 4)
7:30 am – 5:30 pm
Fees:
Weekly fee of $95.00 residents and $150.00 for non-residents. Financial assistance is available through the Scholarship Program.
Inclusion
Please contact Adaptive Recreation for more information about camp inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Transportation
Transportation to and from general summer camp sites will be available through Charlottesville Pupil Transportation. Transportation to and from Ultimate Adventure Camp is not provided.
Scholarships
City residents in need of financial assistance may apply for our scholarship program by mail or online. Scholarship applications must be submitted and approved prior to registration. Scholarship processing takes 7-10 business days.

Ages 6-9 (Must be 6 years old on or before 9/30/25) (Rising 1st through 4th Graders)
Location: Summit Elementary
Create memories that will last a lifetime at Camp Shenandoah! Campers will enjoy the benefits of outdoor activities, sports, nature discoveries, interactive games, enrichment activities for learning and building new skills, and participate in hands-on arts and crafts projects. Each week will feature a new theme and creative projects designed to keep campers engaged and having fun this summer while making new friends! This camp is for rising first through fourth graders.

Ages 10-12 (Rising 5th through 7th Graders)
Location: Johnson Elementary
Create memories that will last a lifetime at Camp Blue Ridge! Campers will enjoy the benefits of outdoor activities, sports, nature discoveries, interactive games, enrichment activities for learning and building new skills, and participate in hands-on arts and crafts projects. Each week will feature a new theme and creative projects designed to keep campers engaged and having fun this summer while making new friends!

Ages 6-12 (Rising 1st through 7th Graders)
Are you looking for a great way to end your summer? Ultimate Adventure Camp will give your camper the opportunity to enjoy their last few days of summer as we jam-pack the week with field trips! Campers can participate in many different activities as they “ad-venture” out into the Charlottesville community and beyond. The schedule and parent packet will be emailed to all participants in mid-July. The camp fee includes field trip admission, field trip transportation. This camp does not provide transportation for campers to and from camp.

2025 Summer Camp Schedule

KidsCollege@PVCC offers a variety of enrichment, career exploration and lifelong learning classes for 1st through 12th graders. Topics include art, coding, culinary, drones, engineering, gaming, healthcare, music, science and many more!
KidsCollege scholarships are available for summer camps based on financial need and are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
More than 30% of the students who attend KidsCollege receive scholarships. Our goal is that every child who wants to attend KidsCollege can without a financial burden. Your donation, in any amount, will benefit all of the children in our community.
