This May, Fuller was named a recipient of the prestigious Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award during the University of Virginia’s Valedictory Exercises. The award goes to a student whose character, heart, humility, and unselfish service embody the very best of the University community.

“Receiving the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award is a tremendous honor,” said Fuller, who graduated from CHS in 2022. “I am humbled to know that my efforts to promote community, beginning during my time at CHS, was received by friends, peers, and other members of the broader UVA community.”

Fuller, who studied at UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, is a Posse Scholar, Trustee, teaching assistant, Club Soccer co-captain, and Meriwether Lewis Institute Fellow. According to UVA, Fuller is described by peers as someone with a rare gift for making everyone around him feel genuinely known and cared for. He also is viewed as a powerful connector and someone whose presence creates a unifying thread across organizations, classrooms, and leadership spaces.

“I appreciate all the friends, faculty, and staff both at CHS and UVA who have taught me how to more authentically be myself over these years,” Fuller said. “The lessons that I have learned will not be forgotten and receiving this honorable award only cements their importance in my memory.”
